What in the world can Disney and Wine have in common? Well, let’s start with what makes a good wine. You acquire one of your favorite bottles, and while you would love to indulge in it right that moment, instead you chose to find a cool and dark spot in your home to store it and let it age. During that period, a series of chemical reactions begin to take place in the liquid, which positively affect the taste of the wine, and as a result, you end up with an even more satisfying bottle of wine than when you started. So to summarize, your wine got better with age!
Now let’s shift gears to Disney. You learn about this magical place very early on, and while you think it’s amazing as a child, you realize that it’s even more wonderful as we get older. Remember those chemical reactions that occurred with wine as it aged, well what if I told you that the same thing may apply to the Disney aging process.
If you’re a parent, I want you to think about when you first had your child and they were just a wee little newborn. Do you remember that feeling that just came over you when you looked at them? You started to smile a little more and just enjoy the moment and your surroundings. All of that happened because of a little chemical called “Dopamine”, or sometimes referred to as the “the happy hormone”.
Let’s move to the moment you walk into Walt Disney World (or any magical Disney property), and you witness your kids just taking it all in. You move a little further into the park, and then it happens! They meet their favorite character, and they are giddy with excitement. It’s that moment when you are watching your child experience the magic of Disney like you did as a kid, that brings you right back to that same moment of when you were looking at them as a newborn. Your smile gets bigger, you might have a tear roll down your face, and suddenly, nothing else matters because you are happier than you ever could imagine!
So see friends, Disney is like wine…it gets better with the aging process (because it involves our kids)! Oh, and I can’t leave without reminding you that although Disney and Wine are similar, they are AMAZING when paired together! Not only does Epcot host the International Food & Wine Festival every year, where you can be a part of an incredible celebration highlighting global cuisines and of course, WINES, but they also now serve wine and other alcoholic beverages as part of their dining plan…SCORE!
Disney holds a special place in my heart, and I will continue to share all the things I love most about about them. Now, go get a glass of wine 🙂
