Back again and let’s continue to discuss the importance of exercise in our lifestyles! I heard someone talk about this in the last week and it hit me hard. When we eat that ice cream or cookie or treat ourselves to that Mexican dinner, we automatically feel like we have to go exercise to make up for it. In all honesty though, why do we look at it like that?! It’s ok to indulge in those treats in modesty, because we are humans, and we deserve to enjoy life. In my world, if you completely take those things out of your diet, then you aren’t really living. It’s all about balance, and balance brings joy!!! So, eat the ice cream, cookie, and Mexican, but don’t let those treats be the reason you go exercise. Yep, you heard that correctly. You see, we need to not exercise to make up for that gift (aka “treat meal”), but instead we need to exercise to remind ourselves of what our bodies can do and the gift that they give us…the power to do incredible things! This week I challenge you to focus on that mentality and absorb all of the results your body is able to give you when exercising!

Exercise of the Week

Who loves a good combo move?! If I can hit a few exercises that provide multiple benefits, then count me in! This week’s exercise of the week is a three-minute tippy toes leg slimming workout from Blogilates…yep, all of the exercises are done while standing on your tippy toes! Adding this element to squats and lunges engages those calves more and most importantly, incorporates our core muscles, as we work on balancing during that dynamic movement.

Pro Tip: Don’t forget to tuck that tailbone down to really engage those deep core muscles!

Recipe of The Week

This week’s recipe of the week is one of my favorite combos…chicken, bacon, and ranch! Now, let’s add that palate to pizza and make it low-carb, and you’ve definitely got my attention! I made this for the first time about a month or so ago, and it was an instant hit with the fam! Added bonus, it’s super easy to make, so great for a low-carb busy weekday dinner.
